Even better than the first book, children of the earth was unputdownable. I LOVE these villains. I was torn constantly between wanting to be one and rooting for our heroine. The book is dark and deals with some heavy issues all people not just teens can relate to (depression, infidelity, acute insecurity). An excellent read with a solid ending.

4.5 stars- I love Anna's writing, so descriptive and intriguing that I really got wrapped up in the story. I've been disappointed by a few books I've read recently both with the plot and poor writing/editing, so this one was pure pleasure. I re-read End Times right before I started this one so I was ready for the adventure to continue. Now I need to know what happens next....
I really enjoyed both books. Book number 2 was great. I'm not a critic just a normal woman who loves to read.

First book was very good do I bought the second but was disappointed.
Dark and exciting. I found it hard not to root for the Children of the Earth; if it weren't for the human sacrifice issue, they'd be far more alluring than the good guys--which may be Schumacher's point. Luna is delightfully evil and the other Children of the Earth are deeply sympathetic in their conflicts between serving their cause and saving their own humanity. This is an excellent YA romance that deserves much more attention!
