This book first of all needs serious re-editing. There's a bunch of grammatical errors.

There was not one character remotely realistic or relatable.

The heroine of the story Erin, comes into the story a strong character with goals and aspirations to be a lawyer. She comes across as the type who doesn't stand for any monkey business and isn't afraid to mace you for looking at her funny. But very quickly becomes the weak, insecure, self-depreciating train wreck she remains throughout the book after the second chapter.
The hero, on the other hand, Lochlan is portrayed as a "charming", beautiful, womanizer, spontaneous, wild, artistic singer of a band with a dark side and he remains all those things throughout.

The thing that drove me absolutely nuts about this book was that Tara has chosen to romanticize a relationship in which every party is manipulative, selfish, overly dramatic, controlling, demanding, obsessive, all the things that scream abusive relationships.

Erin let's Lochlan get away with everything she hates. He literally dictates everything about her life. The guy orders her food regardless of if she likes what he orders or not, he tells her where she can or cannot work, who she can and can't talk to, he goes as far as paying a real estate agency from offering her new places to live so she's stuck in that apartment as she puts it "a prisoner", he tells her he just wants her in the house all the time like she's suppose to set aside her dreams to make his happen. The double-standards are through the roof where he's forgiven for all his wrong doings like flirting with other girls, kissing other people, she's guilted for even looks at another person. He's hot headed and his Mr. Hyde comes out. And she's just suppose to apologize like she's done something wrong...whaaaaat?? Like it somehow falls on her if he gets mad and quits the band or destroys the whole house?? Whaaat?? He takes no responsibility for his actions EVER. And the worst part of it is that all the friends and family around her seem to be okay with it lol as long as Lochlan is kept happy then her sacrifice is worth it.

Pfft. Please. This is 2018 people. Women are stronger, independent, self-reliant and confident and we deserve characters that reflect that.

Erin has a plan, she is on a mission, her goals are set and nothing is going to get in her way. That includes the man having sex in what is suppose to be her apartment! Armed with mace and determination she has no problem using it on the intruder and his mistress that have obviously broken in to her space. After much frustration and police intervention Erin has been told that both her and the gorgeous yet irritating Lochlan have been assigned the same space and there is not another space available. So of course the best solution is to share the apartment. Lochlan is amazed that he is sharing a space with this girl and she has no idea who he is. She believes he is just a small time singer in a little band and has no idea of his fan following. It's not long before you realize these two are either going to love each other or kill each other, and lucky for us love wins. However not with out much frustration and drama. Erin eventually realizes who Lochlan is and although hesitant to be in a relationship with him she knows she can't fight it any longer. The frustrating part is we get to watch Erin run away every time Lochlan has a fan who gets to close, even though Lochlan has pleaded with her to trust him when he's with the band. Lochlan's biggest fear is Erin leaving him as she is the only one who can calm the storm inside of him. When tragedy strikes though their love for each might not be enough to pull Lochlan out of the darkness that envelopes him, and Erin may have to start living her life for herself instead of for Lochlan. Luckily there are no cliffhangers here, but wow this was definitely a rollercoaster that hand me holding on until the very end.
Erin expects a fresh start in an apartment by herself. Lochlan also thinks he has the apartment to himself. But almost as soon as Lochlan meets Erin he wants her. Can he prove that she is it for him? Can the people surrounding them help her see the truth? Can Erin let her life plan go and live life as it comes at her? Do they end up together or let each other go for good?

I enjoyed the writing style and the plot of the story. It was a fun and unique story in my opinion. While the characters were dynamic and full of life I wasn't entirely a fan. I feel that Lochlan and Erin needed some kind of communication between them. I think if they actually talked about the important things I would have liked their characters even more. I absolutely loved all the other characters. I needed more togetherness and less running or pushing away.

All in all it was a good story and I can't wait to read more like it soon. Like I said I would have liked it more if the characters communicated with each other more. But with such a good story line, writing style and back ground characters I still absolutely loved the book.
